Centennial Loans: Marcel Duchamp's Nude Descending a Staircase (No. 2), & Tibet's White Tara

Among the most iconic works in the history of modern art, Marcel Duchamp’s Nude Descending a Staircase (No. 2) challenged both European and American artists in ways they had never experienced before. A generous loan from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, this masterwork is on view through July 7, 2016. Also on view, Tibet's White Tara is an enlightened being of Tibetan Buddhism embodied in the form of a radiant goddess. A generous loan from the Asia Society, New York, this piece is on view through November 6, 2016.

Amir ElSaffar’s Rivers of Sound: Fri, 4/15
On Wednesday, brass band Fanfare Ciocărlia takes the stage offering speed, technical chops, ripping rhythms, and "sweet-and-sour" horns. This Friday, check out Amir ElSaffar’s Rivers of Sound, an ensemble that features musicians playing music ranging from Middle Eastern to American jazz.

CMAtennial Tours
Members only:

In celebration of the CMA’s centennial year, these monthly audience-participation tours will allow you to take a selfie, play games, strike a pose, and experience the CMA in new and unexpected ways. Members-only tours take place every second Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.; tours open to all every second Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
